After a hiccup to fix decals on the road frame, the weeklong Chinese New Year (welcome year of the monkey!), the frames are finally on their way. The way the shipping schedules work, each setback results in a week shipping delay, not simply a day. It's the way it's been for as long as I can remember. But, they're loaded into a 20' container and on the APL New York. According to the live tracking on marinetraffic.com, the vessel is steaming past the northern end of Taiwan as I type this and on to its other stops before arriving in Oakland 3/17. You can follow the APL New York with live tracking at this link.
Once the container is off-loaded in Oakland, the frames have to make their way through customs when duties and taxes are paid before they can be delivered to me. Speaking of that delivery, because I'm way out here in the boonies of Pt. Reyes Station, the delivery services usually only make weekly deliveries out here. What that means is if their weekly delivery is on a Tuesday and the frames are released on a Wednesday, I'll (we'll) have to wait a week for their next delivery window. The cost of living in paradise. Sorry...
There are quite a few deposits on frames, but for the most part, there's still decent availability except on the 64cm frames. As of this writing, the 64cm British Racing Green frames are sold out and there is one 64cm pink frame available.
I'm also working on a new website that I hope to have live about the same times the frames get to me. More better information and more better way to order stuff. Thanks to everyone who has deposits in place!
